With a passion for revitalizing and engaging communities through multifaceted interventions, Sandino L. Thompson provides executive oversight of Public Strategies’ national and state portfolio of employment, workforce development, and community strengthening initiatives. Additionally, Thompson contributes to Public Strategies broader training and technical assistance (TTA) contracts designed to improve program performance in governmental and community-based organizations. Thompson’s work has included providing TTA for large-scale employment evaluations such as WorkAdvance and PACE, and a sizable Office of Family Assistance project, Integrating Innovative Employment and Economic Stability Strategies into TANF Programs (IIEESS).

 

Thompson previously served as the Executive Director of It’s My Community Initiative (IMCI), a community-based organization in Oklahoma City and remains a member of the IMCI Board of Directors. He is also a community developer and has contributed to numerous community and economic development initiatives focused on neighborhood stability and revitalization.

 

Thompson has led public/private partnerships to positively impact human self-sufficiency through affordable housing, technical and vocational skills training, primary, secondary and higher education reform, adolescent health and youth development, and adult education employment and workforce development through his roles at Public Strategies and It’s My Community Initiative. He received a bachelor’s degree in construction management engineering technology from Oklahoma State University.
